Dr. José Bauermeister, MPH, PhD
Albert M. Greenfield Professor of Human Relations
Chair, Department of Family and Community Health
School of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Bauermeister uses interdisciplinary research and intervention methods to promote health equity among sexual and gender minority (SGM) populations. He is the Albert M. Greenfield Professor of Human Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, holding faculty appointments at Penn Nursing and the Perelman School of Medicine. His research integrates perspectives from public health, social science, medicine and human sexuality to create behavior change interventions that can reduce the health disparities experienced by sexual and gender minority adolescents and young adults. Dr. Bauermeister is member of the NIMHD Advisory Council, and Fellow of the Society of Behavioral Medicine and an Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow.
